Two interesting graphics showing many elements of the Starbucks and McDonald's chains worldwide. McDonald's emprie is clearly illustrated here: the juxtapositions of money-made is thought provokingly done (bottom right). Starbuck's supply reliance/spehere of influence is illustrated, although not quite so clearly (top left). I think there is too much going on in this graphic: for example the shadows on the 3-D barch chart (bottom left). Also, the point of comparison between the images of McDd's and Starucks is not clear: Tufte would encourage the designer to separate this uber graphic into several smaller ones; the shocking data would be communictaed more clearly and effectively then.
