Two very good info graphics from the Economist, which is very strong in this area. The one on the left is a combination bar and line graph that shows unemployment trends. The only bad part here is that the y-axis is centered on 4, making the effect seem larger than it really is. But otherwise, a very clean, easy to read, and informative piece.
On the right, the trade deficit graph shows a clear relationship between import trends and the trade deficit. The two-in-one layout is slightly confusing, though, because the magnitude of the two scales is not comparable.
