
I found this graphic in TIME magazine and found it interesting as a display of data. I understand that the size of the vehicles wouldn't necessarily be proportional to their costs as the creators of this graphic would simply want to put the information in context by showing what vehicles they are talking about, but I couldn't figure out what the arrows are supposed to convey.

The arrows (I believe) show what happens to shrapnel when there is an explosion directly underneath the vehicle.
I think the vehicles may be that size relative to each other, but I have no real idea.
