WHO on Zimbabwe

In light of the current crisis in Zimbabwe, I thought it might be interesting to look at the WHO profile of Zimbabwe's mortality rate. Mugabe has been head of government since 1980, which is where the WHO begins its assessment of under-5 mortality. The graphs pick surprisingly different samplings, some clustered in the 90s and others more spread out. I also wonder why they chose the scale of under-5 mortality that they did--is 400 the limit because some countries have mortality rates that high? The table of under-5 mortality by highest and lowest quintiles provided more diverse information, but the use of ratios was not particularly effective. I would have preferred to see this information graphed so that it could be analyzed in greater detail.
