Walking Times

In light of our current problem set, here is an example where walking time is also being calculated and overlaid over a geographic map. Unlike the very basic Harvard Yard-Allston walking time model shown in class, where basic physical facts such as not being able to swim across the river were not considered, this graph, considers different modes of real physical traveling such as walking, buses, and or trains (as well as the wait time for buses etc) to calculate the time.

In this graph the center is Russells Hall the nearest hospital to different proposed residential construction areas represented by the markers, and the yellow polygon represents all locations that are within 30/20 minutes of the hospital. I don't think this graph is completely accurate but it does do one step better than the Harvard graph. C'mon Harvard!
