
This is a graph of voter turnout among Canadians which, in addition to being pretty spectacular when compared to their American counterparts, is neatly displayed both as a trend and with individual points showing the outliers of the data set. It's also just generally attractive to look at and kind of mirrors the confetti at the end of an election which is an added bonus.

Sorry, but this graphic had MUCH room for improvement. The information cannot be separated by a human easily with all that data in all those colors plotted on top of each other. Small multiples would be a better way to go here.
Also, this looks to be trends, but it is not. The X axis looks to be a time series, but is actually voter turnout. And this is an error (not necessarily a graphical design mistake) but the Y axis refers to four parties, and there are five according to the key.
Ultimately, what it would seem to show is that only Bloc QC has any relationship between turnout and % of ballots (a good thing I guess), but none of the R-squareds are really high enough to conclude much of anything.
It does look like confetti, though.
